Every month Metrics collects the metrics as mentioned in Metrics Handbooks and reports the same in Metrics Database. The report will also be shared to corresponding projects and will be published in the Management Review Meeting / Dashboard review.
Consolidated data along with the results of the Project level analysis would be received from the Projects (FREQUENCY- monthly/ yearly/ half yearly/ quarterly) This would include project level metrics data and analysis, Defects Analysis, OTACE, Productivity, Schedule and SLA Analysis etc.
Data is segregated depending upon the Project Type (e.g., Development/ Maintenance/ Enhancement/ Support/ Agile/), Language (e.g., C++, Java etc.)
Metrics Group shall analyze and revise the baselines for the metrics at a minimum frequency of twice a year and once a year for TL9000 metrics. The Metrics Group collates the metrics and comes out with Metrics revisit analysis/Proposed baselines. Metrics revisit and Baselining is done for the Sub process metrics also. Metrics collected at BU level shall be used for creating/calibrating metrics baseline and process performance model that shall be utilize at organization and project level for process performance monitoring and prediction.
Metrics Baseline at organisation level serves as a statistical benchmark to define reasonable process target, compare process output from live projects and evaluate process capability.
Metrics Baseline has three stages:
-
Metrics Baseline Creation
-
Metrics Baseline Reporting / Communication
-
Metrics Baseline Application
